奇想国童书（Everafter Books）成立于2015年，2016年开始出版图书，专注服务0-12 岁少儿读者及其家庭，以”甄选精品、出版精品，带给孩子们高品质的精神滋养”为理念，成立九年多来，已出版500余种极具思想和审美价值的图书，多次荣获包括国家图书馆“文津图书奖”、深圳读书月“年度十大童书”、全国少年儿童图书馆“我最喜爱的童书”、“年度优秀童书排行榜Top10”等众多童书奖项，并频繁入选国内最著名的优秀童书书单。
奇想国以出版高品质的引进版图书见长。其中，在图画书方面，出版了包括布兰登·文策尔的《他们都看见了一只猫》，西德尼·史密斯的《大大的城市，小小的你》，谢丽·达斯基·瑞科尔的《晚安，工地上的车》系列，曼努埃尔·马索尔的《山中》，克莉丝汀·罗希夫特的《每个人都重要》，凯蒂·克劳泽 的《美杜莎妈妈》，蒂娜·奥耶维奇 著，亚历山德拉·扎永茨 绘的《我们的情感王国》，威尔弗里德·鲁帕诺的《穿内裤的狼》系列，苏菲·布莱科尔的《如果你到地球来》， 贝娅特丽丝·阿勒玛尼娅的《别怕那些小逝去，亲爱的小孩》，托尼·罗斯的《小公主》系列等。
在文学图书方面，出版了厄苏拉·弗农的《仓鼠公主》系列，迈克尔·巴克利的《格林姐妹》系列，阿维的《幽光森林的居民们》系列，保罗·加尔顿的《老鼠侦探社》系列，安妮·拜罗斯著，苏菲·布莱科尔绘的《艾薇和豆豆》系列。奇想国致力打造的儿童文学“新经典”书系“奇想文库”已出版45本，180余次获得国内外奖项或书单推荐，其中包括2021年林格伦纪念奖得主让-克劳德·穆莱瓦 的《刺猬杰斐逊和一桩悬案》，意大利卡尔维诺奖得主葆拉·马斯特罗科拉的《那一年，叶子没有落下来》等。
奇想国也出版了多本图像小说，诸如汤姆·奥戈玛的《一生之旅》等。
奇想国的原创图书在国际国内屡获大奖。其中，图画书《马蒂斯的旅行》作为中国仅有的两本，入选2024年博洛尼亚童书展The BRAW Amazing Bookshelf；低幼图书《蜗牛老师的幼儿园——捉迷藏》英文版获得美国童书业最受尊重的奖项之一《科克斯书评》2021年最佳童书；《龙生九子》版权销往俄罗斯，《虫虫艺术家》作者卢心远获得2024年《纽约时报》十佳图画书，2024大鹏自然童书奖“启迪奖”，《虫虫艺术家》和《龙生九子》荣列《父母必读》杂志社2024年原创绘本推荐榜单Top10。原创儿童文学书系“自古英才出少年·科学”4本，获得2023年《中国教师报》”推动儿童发展的十本书·非绘本“年度推荐。
奇想国多次荣获行业评选的“年度优秀童书品牌”，并于2018年在仅成立3年时，收获“改革开放40年民营书业百佳品牌榜”“最受欢迎少儿出版机构”的殊荣。2025年，奇想国获得BOP大奖—博洛尼 亚童书展全球最佳童书出版机构奖。
奇想国童书的创始人黄晓燕女士作为首位来自中国内地的出版人，于2024年担任博洛尼亚童书展插画展国际评委。
With a mission statement of “publishing high-quality books for children 0-12 years old and nurturing them with exceptional content”, Everafter Books was founded in 2015 and has started publishing books since early 2016. Over the past 9 years, Everafter has published over 600 titles with extremely thoughtful and aesthetic values, many of which have won nation-wide awards, such as The National Library of China “Wenjin Book Award”、"Annual Top 10 Best children’s Books ”sponsored by Shenzhen Reading Month、 “My Favourite Children’s Books Award” organized by the alliance of more than 40 provincial children’s libraries across China、“Top 10 Children’s Books of the Year” issued by Parenting Science magazine and many other children's book awards, and have frequented in the most prestigious children’s book selection lists in China.
Everafter Books is well known for its unique taste of publishing unparalleled good children’s books. For picture books, Everafter has published many international leading creators’ works, such as They All Saw a Cat by Brendan Wenzel, Small In The City by Sydney Smith, Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site series by Sherri Duskey Rinker, The Mountain (Yokai-La Montagne) by Manuel Marsol, Everybody Counts (Alle sammen teller) by Kristin Roskifte, Mother Medusa (Mère Méduse) by Kitty Crowther, What Feelings Do When No One's Looking (Co ribia uczucia?) written by Tina Oziewicz and illustrated by Aleksandra Zajac, Le Loup en slip series by Wilfrid Lupano, If You Come to Earth by Sophie Blackall, LES CHOSES QUI S’EN VONT by Beatrice Almagna, The Princess Series by Tony Ross, and so on.
For children’s literature books, Everafter has published Hamster Princess series by Ursula Vernon, The Sisters Grimm series by Michael Buckley, Tales from Dimwood Forest series by AVI, The Great Mouse Detective series by Paul Galdone, Ivy & Bean series written by Annie Barrows and illustrated by Sophie Blackall. Since its establishment, Everafter has started to create a collection of valuable middle grade fictions called Everafter Collection of Children's Literature, which has released 46 titles so far, has been sold more than 3 million copies in total and has been awarded and listed by more than 180 nation-wide children’s books recommendation lists.
The series includes Jefferson by Jean Claude Mourlevat, winner of the 2021 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, If You Were Real(L’anno che non caddero le foglie) by Paola Mastrocola, winner of the Premio Calvino Prize, and so on.
Everafter has also published many graphic novels, such as Tom Haugomat’s Through a Life(À Travers).
Titles originated by Everafter Books have won many awards both at home and abroad. Of these, picture book Matisse's Journey, as one of the only two books from China, was selected to 2024 BRAW Amazing Bookshelf by Bologna Book Fair; English edition of toddler book A Little Snail Book: Hide-and-Seek, published by Chronicle Books for the English language world, won 2021 Kirkus Reviews Best Children’s Book; the rights of The Nine Sons of the Dragon was sold to Russia; Thea Lu, winner of the 2024 New York Times Top 10 Best Illustrated Children’s Books Award, published Is This Art with Everafter Books and has just won 2024 Dapeng Natural Children’s Book Award; Is This Art and The Nine Sons of the Dragon were selected as the 2024 TOP 10 Chinese Original Picture Books by Parenting Science magazine; middle-grade fiction Seeds of Genius: The Childhood Chronicles of China's Greatest Scientists(4 titles) series was recommended by China Teachers’ Weekly as “The Annual Best 10 Books that Support Children’s Development”.In 2025, Everafter Books won the BOP Award—the Bologna Prize for the Best Children's Publisher of the Year at the Bologna Children's Book Fair.
Everafter Books was frequently awarded “Annual Leading Children’s Book Publishers in China” and “The Most Popular Children’s Book Brands in China” etc.. It was also named “Top 100 Book organizations in 40 years since China’s Reform and Opening-up Policies” in 2018, just three years after its establishment(The 100 organizations include book sellers and printers, among which, book publishers only account for 40%.). Everafter Books established a joint venture company with Bayard Group in 2017, and a joint brand with Chronicle Books in 2018. The founder of Everafter Books, Ms. Xiaoyang Huang, as the f irst publisher from Mainland China, has served as one of the international jury members of Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition in 2024.
